Privacy policy applicant management

We appreciate your interest in working for Leistungselektronik JENA GmbH (LEJ).

We would like to take this opportunity to assure you that your personal data are handled and processed with the utmost confidentiality. The following text should answer some of the questions you may have about the way we process your data.

1. Transmission of your application

When you submit your application, we ask for your consent to storing the personal data you have shared with us. Once you have consented, we store your data for a maximum of twelve months. The data are erased after the retention period has ended.
Meanwhile, we are happy to change or amend your applicant profile upon request. (Contact: jobs@lej.de)

2. Purpose of Data Collection

LEJ processes and uses your personal data exclusively for the purpose of selecting applicants and within the context of the recruitment process. If and insofar as you submit any contact data as part of your application (e.g. email address, phone number, mobile number, or social media data), we might use these to contact you for the purpose of application management.

3. Data Required for the Application Procedure

Personal data such as your first and last name and your email address are absolutely essential for the applicant selection process. You are free to share additional information (e.g. information on social media) on a voluntary basis. This does not affect our decision-making process when selecting applicants.

4. Transfer of Your Data

In the context of applicant selection, your personal data are exclusively shared with the appropriate departments within our company.
Spontaneous applications may be reviewed by several different departments of our company as necessary. This is meant to increase the likelihood of finding a suitable position for you.
Throughout the entire process, we treat your data with the utmost confidentiality. No data are shared with third parties unless you have explicitly consented to it beforehand or unless this is required and lawful due to the course of the procedure or based on an overriding legal provision.
If and insofar as the course of the application procedure and the technical implementation of our data processing require the use of third-party service providers, we have taken the appropriate measures in terms of data protection legislation in accordance with Art. 11 BDSG (German Federal Data Protection Act).

5. Duration of Data Retention

We require an appropriate time frame for evaluation, selection, interviews, etc. in order to ensure a proper application procedure. We will inform you about the progress and status of the selection process by means of the respective letters of acknowledgment or confirmation that you will receive via email. After the application process has been completed, we will erase the data submitted to us by the applicants we did not select within a period of six months, or twelve months if you have consented to prolonged data retention.
If the application process results in an employment relationship, long-term data retention is permissible in accordance with Art. 28 and Art. 32 BDSG (German Federal Data Protection Act).

6. Information on Your Personal Data

By responding to a job posting and participating in the application process, you assure us that any and all information provided about your person is true and correct. Inaccurate, incomplete or out-of-date information may affect the selection process in an unfavorable manner and void the employment relationship that might result from this process.
We would like to point out that processing special categories of personal data such as information on racial and ethnic background or religious beliefs cannot be excluded in accordance with Art. 3 Sec. 9 BDSG (German Federal Data Protection Act). However, we will not ask you to submit such information unless it is absolutely essential for the application process.
